Auto-Rickshaws & Taxis TOP Cheaters & Fraud List

We talk about people being cheated. But, are we even aware that auto-rickshaws & taxi’s top the list.

There are various commercials being aired on television regarding the consumers rights saying “JAAGO GRAHAK JAAGO”. Why there isn't any for public transport. Even the public transporters cheat customers in their own way.

All the Rickshaws & Taxis charge on the basis of meter, so no passenger would argue if the fare goes too high than the actual fare.

They change their meter wheel, which makes the meter run fast. This can be done only by the mechanic, they cannot do it themselves.

Since last 6 months i have been arguing with almost every auto-wala for this. Those whose meter is 10 paise ahead, would say, "madam, itna toh abhi sabhi rakhte hain".

KEEPING METER 10 PAISA AHEAD!!! WHO CREATED THIS AS A STANDARD?
NO ONE ELSE, BUT OUR’s (as well as government’s) ACCEPTANCE, IGNORANCE!!!

If the steps would been taken, when it all began, i guess today there wouldn't have been such problems. Nor this standard would have been in existance.

I did came across auto-walas, whose meter is 40 paisa ahead. Which means "where the actual fare is Rs. 100, their meter will show you somewhere between Rs. 130 to 140".

Eg:

· you travel by auto to office everyday (morning as well as evening)
· your 1 time actual fare is Rs. 70
· If the meter is ahead by:
· ~ 10 paisa: your fare would be Rs. somewhere between Rs. 75 to Rs. 85
· ~ 20 paisa: your fare would be Rs. somewhere between Rs. 85 to Rs. 100
· ~ 30 paisa: your fare would be Rs. somewhere between Rs. 100 to Rs. 115
· ~ 40 paisa: your fare would be Rs. somewhere between Rs. 115 +
· and so on..............


In any of the above cases you are paying the auto-walas Rs. 10 to 60 more than the actual fare. (depending on their meter).

There are hardly any autowala which still charge on the original meter.

WHY SHOULD WE PAY THEM MORE. WE EARN IT THRU OUR HARDWORK, AND NOT BY CHEATING ANYONE LIKE THEM.

What is our RTO doing????

Again, something more interesting. When you find an auto with "MH 03", please consider that if you travel by them, be default, you will be paying the fare as per the meter that is 30 to 40 paise or even more ahead. This is their standard.

It’s high time now. Before this reaches too high….. RTO / Traffic Police should look into the matter.
